Over thinking the first challenge?

Alright, So I believe that I am over thinking the very first encryption challenge.

I converted the original number to binary it comes out 21 digits. Which breaks up into three seven bit sequences which works out well for ascii. So I converted back to decimal to get 73, 117, 103, which I looked up in ascii and it was: Iuh.

In the end it came out wrong. I've tried a few other methods but they were not as successful.

Anybody else stuck?

I'll admit that a lot of the encryption challenges give very little information to go on. For this one you said you tried base 2. That didn't work out, but maybe there's another base that would work. Use the very little bit of evidence you have, it'll help.
